Nothing gets us pumped more than helping new, emerging and established authors get in front of their ideal audiences.
Some authors come to us seeking more exposure during a book launch.
Others are just embarking on their speaking journey and seek our help to develop topics that get attention and other ways to market themselves.
And still others, who are experienced speakers/presenters, engage us for our research and pitching services to keep the invitations coming or when they want to break into a new audiences or test a new topic or book idea.
It’s a fun, inspiring and challenging mix, and because of that, there’s no one-size-fits-all package of services.

So, to answer the very fair and oft asked question “how does Booking Authors work?” here are some service starting points that have evolved quite naturally over the last couple of years.
- Meet & Greet (by phone): A 20-minute consultation call to determine if we’re a good fit for your needs and vice versa.

- Speaking of Speaking: An assessment of the world of speaking as it relates to your position/expertise and your short term and long term goals. With an initial review of your speaking marketing materials and/or website, and two 45-minute phone consults, we’ll explore questions like, what are your most “bookable” topic areas? Who are your ideal audiences? Why? What goals can speaking help you achieve? What are your first or next steps to getting more, better gigs.

- Marketing Content Development: To get great gigs and high profile exposure, you must have a go-to 2-3 page “speaking kit” that quickly outlines exactly who you are and why a program coordinator should choose you over other speakers. In addition to a kit, we’ll also want to look over your website, social media efforts and any other marketing materials you have to determine if you’re telling the “whole” story of you, not only as an author or consultant, but as a speaker as well.
In this package, we work with you to develop the speaking kit content and other necessary materials through a customized brainstorming session, a clear outline of tasks for you to gather the right pieces of information, two rounds of comprehensive editing/feedback by phone and unlimited answers to questions via email.
$1,000-$1,500*(depending on the current state of your materials)
*This does not include kit layout or design. We want your kit to match your branding and/or book and be extremely professional in its final version. (Cobbling something together on MS Word won’t cut it. We encourage you to use your own design source. If that doesn’t work, we have extremely affordable resources to offer.)- The Kickstart: For those who have their speaking kit and other marketing materials ready to go, the Kickstart is an affordable way to gain a clear, hands-on picture of what’s going on in the industries you’re targeting, where you fit in that picture, what current issues are at play and how to position your expertise as a great solution! This 6-week package includes:
- A strategic plan for reaching up to 3 of your ideal audiences.
- Custom research of the best groups to target and the key players in them.
- Personalized introductions, delivery of your materials and reasonable follow up to key contacts in those groups.
- Negotiation of main contract points for any invitations to speak.
- Exploration of other potential relationship builders with these organizations (webinars, guest blogging, newsletter content).
- Ongoing feedback from contacts including the cool, the tepid and the hot. (We believe all feedback is good feedback, even if there are a few grains of salt needing to be taken!)
- Final assessment and outline for next steps for you to take in your on-going speaking business development efforts.
$2,000 (plus commission on fees over $1k)
- The Whole Kit and Development Kaboodle:This is a two-phase program that includes a combination of the above, customized for your unique goals and position. This is ideal for clients who have too much on their plates to implement a strong, consistent development plan on their own, we offer on-going outreach, research, negoitation, lead follow up and all the other activities required to keep a pipeline of speaking opportunities coming. As your partner, we’ll let you know what we’re finding, additional topics you might want to address, suggestions for other kinds of services you can develop to make the most out of the relationships we’re building.

**While we don’t require a minimum number of months, we ask you to recoginize that true develpoment is a long process. We hope that you’ll stick with us for at least 3 months, and ideally 6 or more in order to reap the full value of our work
